Things that never made it out of my suitcase:
- 4 pairs of socks
- the “nice” shorts
- 1 “decent” t-shirt
- my least comfortable swimsuit top
- airpods
- 2 bras
- mascara
- student writing that needs to be graded by Monday
- my second & third books
Things I found exactly where I dropped them the day we arrived
- one pair of lightweight pants
- one sweatshirt
- shoes with laces
- compression socks
Things to put in my backpack
- book #2
- a few scavenged seashells and three small pieces of sea glass
- water bottle
- journal – the seats are too small for a laptop
- sand, whether I want it or not
Things I will not bring home
- sunscreen
- a half-full bottle of moisturizer, now empty
- travel razor
- regrets

lists that sum up a successful vacation!

Fun structure. I like how you let the reader fill in the gaps. Glad you didn’t grade on vacation.

Amanda,
Love the lists and the way you’ve divided these into sections. Think of the sand as a souvenir or memory of a relaxing week. I’m currently packing for a trip from April 2-20, and it is harder than usual.

I hope your trip home is uneventful. I also have a pile of work I planned to mark this week that has not been marked after all! Remember in 2020 when March Break lasted 3.5 months? We didn’t appreciate it enough! LOL

Ohh, I need to catch up and read about your trip!! For now, I have to say I’m loving these packing categories! Packing is such as fun topic to write about haha so many stories, so many methods, so many frustrations. I love how “regret” was the very last item in here 🙂

Quick summary: beach, feed the boys, feed the boys, herd the boys somewhere, beach, feed the boys. Feed them again. Five athletic 12th grade boys – when the shortest is 5’9 – consume an astonishing amount of food 😂
