At the end of the day
At the end of the week
When we’ve all been pretending
That everything’s fine
She stops by to say
That she’s glad I’m here
Which helps me remember
That I’m glad I’m here
too.

There's a lot to unpack here.

A compliment or a “thank you” can change my whole day! I need to go further out of my way to make sure I am offering them to others.
Have a good weekend!

You’ve captured so very much in this moment here. I connected so deeply to that feeling at the end of a long, discouraging week in a long, tough year. And I connected to the huge difference it makes when someone simply stops by to check on me. Thank you for this slice. =)

How lovely. Such a perfect poem. And a reminder to me that I need to do that more often too! What a friend!

Today, for the first time in eons, I full on hugged a kid who desperately needed it. Who was so close to tears that there really wasn’t another option. I was so very glad I was there in that moment.

Oh goodness. What a lovely soul you’ve got there in that ‘she’ of whom you speak. The perfect thing to say-more powerful than commiserating, even. I’m glad you’re HERE too.
